About Vietnam legal coverage
Vietnam is a civil-law jurisdiction within a socialist legal tradition. The National Assembly (Quốc hội) enacts laws and codes (Luật, Bộ luật) and its Standing Committee issues ordinances (Pháp lệnh); the Government (Chính phủ) issues decrees (Nghị định), the Prime Minister issues decisions (Quyết định), and ministries issue circulars (Thông tư). These instruments are officially promulgated through the national Official Gazette (Công báo) at congbao.chinhphu.vn, in Vietnamese. Court decisions of the Supreme People's Court and lower courts sit outside this gazette and are not yet covered as a dedicated source.
