Which Telangana law established a single-window approval and self-certification system for setting up industries in the state?
The Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System Act, 2014 (the TS-iPASS Act, Act No. 3 of 2014) — one of the first Acts passed by the new Telangana Legislature — created a time-bound single-window clearance and self-certification regime for industrial projects, and was published in the Telangana Gazette by the Industries & Commerce Department, Government of Telangana.

Why Lawstronaut for Telangana legal research
Telangana legal information is spread across the state gazette, the legislature, government departments issuing Government Orders, statutory regulators, and the courts — layered on top of the Union (central) laws that also apply in the state. For humans, that means slow research. For AI systems, it's a bigger problem: fragmented source access, inconsistent formats, missing provenance, and weak citation trails.
Lawstronaut turns those sources into one structured legal data layer — source links, metadata, full text, versioning, and API/MCP access. Your product or agent retrieves the legal source directly instead of relying on generic web search or unverified model memory. Every answer carries a citation, a timestamp, and a link to the official document — the provenance that makes a legal research platform defensible to auditors and regulators.
About Telangana legal coverage
Telangana is India's newest state, formed on 2 June 2014 under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, with Hyderabad as its capital. It is part of India's common-law system and unified judiciary: state legislation is enacted by the bicameral Telangana Legislature (Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council), assented to by the Governor, and published in the Telangana Gazette, while Government Orders (G.O.s) and subordinate rules are issued by state departments. Union (central) legislation applies in the state alongside state law. The High Court for the State of Telangana in Hyderabad — operational as a separate court since 1 January 2019, following its bifurcation from the erstwhile common High Court — is the apex court for the state. Legal materials are published in English and Telugu.
Telangana law has moved quickly since the state's creation: flagship measures such as the TS-iPASS Act, 2014 for single-window industrial clearances, the Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019, and the Telangana Rights in Land and Pattadar Pass Books Act, 2020 (which underpins the Dharani land-records system) sit alongside a steady flow of Government Orders — and the 2019 High Court bifurcation reshaped the state's case-law source. Citations to superseded provisions can simply be wrong, so point-in-time data straight from the source is what keeps a Telangana legal research answer correct today.
