Manitoba is a common-law province of Canada operating within the country's federal system. Provincial law sits beneath the Constitution of Canada and federal legislation, while the province has its own legislature — the unicameral Legislative Assembly of Manitoba — its own executive headed by the Lieutenant Governor and the Executive Council, and its own courts: the Court of Appeal of Manitoba, the Court of King's Bench, and the Provincial Court. Provincial statutes are consolidated in the Continuing Consolidation of the Statutes of Manitoba (C.C.S.M.) and regulations and notices are published in The Manitoba Gazette by the King's Printer.
