Why Lawstronaut for Malian legal research
Malian legal information is spread across the official gazette, government ministries, statutory agencies, regional regulators, the OHADA framework, courts, and publication sources. For humans, that means slow research. For AI systems, it's a bigger problem: fragmented source access, inconsistent formats, missing provenance, and weak citation trails.
Lawstronaut turns those sources into one structured legal data layer — source links, metadata, full text, versioning, and API/MCP access. Your product or agent retrieves the legal source directly instead of relying on generic web search or unverified model memory. Every answer carries a citation, a timestamp, and a link to the official document — the provenance that makes a legal research platform defensible to auditors and regulators.
About Mali legal coverage
Mali is a civil-law jurisdiction rooted in French legal tradition, and a member of both the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU/UEMOA) and OHADA, whose Uniform Acts govern much of its business law. Primary legislation is published in the Journal officiel de la République du Mali by the Secrétariat Général du Gouvernement, while regulatory policy sits across ministries and statutory agencies — the Banque Centrale des États de l'Afrique de l'Ouest (BCEAO), the data protection authority (APDP), the telecoms regulator (AMRTP), and others. Case law spans the Cour Suprême, the Cour Constitutionnelle, and the courts of appeal. Legal materials are published primarily in French.
Malian law is in a period of rapid change: a new Constitution establishing the Fourth Republic was adopted by referendum and promulgated on 22 July 2023, and the mining and investment frameworks were overhauled in 2023 to reset the state's share of resource revenues — so citations to outdated provisions can simply be wrong. Point-in-time data straight from the source is what keeps a Mali legal research answer correct today.
