DUBAI, UAE — October 16, 2026 — Lawstronaut, a provider of verified global legal data, today announced its integration with Microsoft Copilot as a legal research partner in Microsoft’s newly introduced Copilot for Legal initiative. The integration brings Lawstronaut’s extensive collection of continuously updated legal records directly into Copilot, enabling legal professionals to research legislation, court decisions, regulatory requirements, and legal developments without switching to a separate legal research interface.

The announcement follows Microsoft’s introduction of more than 20 purpose-built legal skills and a growing ecosystem of partner-built plugins. Lawstronaut joins Bloomberg Law, Trellis, and other legal research providers named by Microsoft to bring specialized legal information and trusted sources into Copilot.

Bringing global legal research into Microsoft Copilot

Legal research rarely ends with finding a law. Professionals need to establish which version applies, understand how requirements differ across jurisdictions, review relevant court decisions, and verify their findings against official sources.

Lawstronaut provides access to more than 71 million legal records across 240+ jurisdictions, covering legislation, regulations, case law, regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and legislative history.

The platform sources legal information directly from official authorities, structures it for AI-powered research, and continuously monitors changes to the underlying law.

With Lawstronaut connected to Microsoft Copilot, legal professionals can access this information within their existing workflows, moving from a legal question to the relevant legislation, case law, and supporting sources.

Legal research is becoming part of the tools people already use, and I think Microsoft is making a great move by bringing specialized legal capabilities into Copilot. Having the right legal information available when you need it can make a real difference, especially when working across jurisdictions or keeping up with changes in the law. That’s what we’ve been working toward with Lawstronaut, and we’re really proud to be part of this initiative with Microsoft.

From legal questions to official sources

With Lawstronaut connected, legal professionals can use Microsoft Copilot to:

  • ✓Find and research applicable legislation and regulations across jurisdictions
  • ✓Explore relevant case law and court decisions
  • ✓Check regulatory guidance and enforcement actions
  • ✓Identify legislative amendments and review historical versions
  • ✓Compare legal requirements across countries
  • ✓Trace research findings back to official legal sources
  • ✓Research against continuously updated legal information

Rather than treating an AI-generated answer as the final result, Lawstronaut provides a path back to the legal materials behind it, allowing professionals to review the underlying evidence and apply their own legal judgment.

Keeping pace with changes in the law

Legislation is amended, regulations are introduced or repealed, courts issue new decisions, and regulators update their guidance. For organizations operating across multiple jurisdictions, keeping track of these developments is an ongoing challenge.

Lawstronaut addresses this through continuously updated legal data, version tracking, legislative change detection, and direct references to official authorities.

This allows legal professionals to investigate questions that go beyond the current text of a law:

  • ✓What does the law say today?
  • ✓What changed, and when?
  • ✓Which requirements apply in this jurisdiction?
  • ✓What does the relevant case law say?
  • ✓Which official source supports the finding?

These are the questions that matter when legal research needs to support advice, compliance decisions, and other work where accuracy and traceability are essential.

Built for the way legal professionals work

Microsoft’s new legal capabilities bring specialized legal tools and information into Microsoft 365, supporting activities such as document review, drafting, legal research, and multi-step workflows.

Lawstronaut’s integration extends these capabilities with access to global legal information from official sources.

The integration also builds on Lawstronaut’s existing REST API and Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections, which enable AI assistants, software applications, and enterprise systems to access structured legal data.

By connecting legal information directly to the tools professionals already use, Lawstronaut continues its mission to make current, verifiable legal data accessible wherever legal research and analysis take place.

Now available in Microsoft Copilot

Lawstronaut is now available through Microsoft Copilot, giving legal professionals access to continuously updated legal information from official sources within their existing research workflows.
